Hello! Welcome to “Belles-Lettres!”

In this blog, you will find fashion and knitting posts (with me, they’re the same!), some art and a few vegetarian recipes scattered around. I like to take self-portraits and post pictures of things like what I wore or what I’m knitting. I also take pictures of food quite often, but I’ll try to only post them when there’s an accompanying recipe.

“Belles-Lettres” is a French term meaning “beautiful writing.” It is used to describe writing that is pretty in style and tone of writing, or writing  which intimates culture and art. Since I don’t talk about much here, but instead post things I find to be pretty, I thought this was an appropriate name for my blog.

A bit about me: I’m a recent university grad. I moved from Dallas, TX to Seattle, WA in August after graduating. I’m still finding my footing, but I hope to get a job soon and buy a home! I am an artistic person, but I’m not sure I can call myself an artist. I like to create and look at beautiful things. The thing I’d say I care about most, from a philosophical perspective, is finding the beauty in life.

Right now, I’m a bit of a wanderer, floating in the ether, but in the future, I hope to be a pastry chef-slash-chocolatier with my own little boutique. Maybe I’ll have a dress-and-art shop on the other side of my store. ;)
